Usage Areas
- In architectural applications where it is desired that the aggregates are visible on the surface in casting in place or precast concretes (wash concrete, exposed aggregate concrete)
- Without the need for a physical etching process (sandblasting, notching, chipping, etc.), it provides a significant convenience for fresh in horizontal construction joints.
- It is used to obtain applications such as walkways and terrazos with permanent visible aggregate surfaces.
Advantages
- It delays the normal hydration of cement on the concrete surface (high cement content and temperature reduce the lag). When the delay is over, the concrete continues to gain strength
- The depth of the retarded layer depends on the amount of product applied, the time to remove the retardant from the surface, the amount of water and cement in the mixture, and the ambient temperature
- Reduces roughening labor costs
- Can be diluted according to the purpose of application
- Easy to apply
- Solvent-free
For Hardened Concrete;
- Higher early strength than conventional water-cutting additives,
- High final compressive strength,
- Higher modulus of elasticity,
- Improvement of adherence with reinforcement,
- Low permeability,
- High durability,
- It adds low shrinkage and creep properties.
