BTM Botanik
BTM Botanik is a high-performance waterproofing membrane manufactured from SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) modified bitumen and reinforced with polyester felt. It is specially designed to provide resistance against plant root penetration.
Both the upper and lower surfaces are coated with PE (polyethylene) film. The membrane offers high flexibility and can be installed using either a torch-applied or hot asphalt application method.
It is particularly suitable for green roofs, landscaped structures, and applications exposed to root growth.
BTM produces four different variants under the Botanik product range.
BTM Botanik PE4 has been tested and certified for root resistance by University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf according to the FLL Root Resistance Test methodology.

APPLICATION AREAS
On garden terrace roofs of buildings,
BTM Waterproofing Membrane Botanik is used to achieve waterproofing in sections that are in contact with soil, such as retaining walls and foundations.
Designed for cold climates, BTM Waterproofing Membrane Botanik can also be used as an underlayer and intermediate layer in waterproofing applications on all surfaces in contact with soil and requiring flexibility.
SURFACE PREPARATION
The surface on which BTM Waterproofing Membrane Botanik will be applied must be cleaned of dust, dirt, rust and oil. Loose particles must be scraped off and removed.
APPLICATION METHOD
If the surfaces to be waterproofed are concrete, they must be finished with a wood-float screed, clean and dry.
Before the membrane application, BTS 100 (TS103) bituminous solution primer or BTR 100 (TS113) bituminous emulsion primer must be applied to the surface and allowed to dry.
