Bituproof D Vertical

Advantages

• Applied as a single-layer waterproofing system.

Surface Preparation

The blinding concrete must be cast with sufficient thickness and strength and have a properly finished surface. The substrate must be free from loose aggregates and sharp protrusions. Before application, the surface should be thoroughly cleaned by sweeping.

Application Method

A separating layer (such as a drainage board or XPS insulation board) should be installed on smooth surfaces such as diaphragm walls or shoring walls. BTM Bituproof D should then be applied onto this prepared surface by removing the silicone release film from its underside and bonding it in place.

Longitudinal overlaps must be 10 cm, and transverse overlaps 15 cm. The overlap areas should be sealed using a torch flame. The membrane length used in a single application should not exceed 5 meters. Each 5-meter membrane section must be mechanically fixed along the upper edge using suitable fasteners with 5 cm diameter washers, spaced at 30 cm intervals horizontally.

Packaging

• Supplied in rolls measuring 1 m × 10 m.

Storage Conditions and Shelf Life

• Membrane rolls must be transported in an upright position.
• Necessary precautions should be taken to prevent rolls from tipping during transportation.
• Store rolls upright in covered warehouses with a flat floor.
• Membrane rolls must not be stacked on top of each other.
• Care should be taken during loading, unloading, and handling to avoid severe impacts.
• If stored outdoors for an extended period, the rolls should be covered to protect them from direct sunlight.
• Shelf life is 1 year from the production date, provided the product is stored in its original unopened and undamaged packaging, in dry conditions, protected from direct sunlight, and at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C.
